Children holding up peace signs and smiling

Children who see the world as a blur — and don't know a sharper, brighter one exists.

Across India, more than 9 million children struggle to learn and play due to poor vision. Gift of Sight is changing this, one child at a time.

How We Work

We partner with local schools and doctors to screen, prescribe, and create lasting eye care programs that continue to serve communities long after our initial visit.

A child receiving an eye screening

1. Screen

Our volunteers visit schools to conduct initial vision screenings, identifying children who need further evaluation and care.

2. Evaluate

We arrange for ophthalmologists to visit schools and provide professional eye examinations, determining the best treatment plan for each child.

3. Provide

We distribute prescription glasses immediately, provide medicines when needed, and fund surgeries for children who require them.

Data-Driven Impact

We maintain a comprehensive database of schools, age, sex, and geographical location. This data is already becoming useful in identifying trends in incidence of eye diseases in varying regions.
